Orientation for FHNN Volunteers
Friday, February 10, 3:00 - 4:30 pm
Join us for an orientation session for new volunteers. The session will provide best practices to help seniors in Friendship Heights, MD who need help to remain in their homes as they age.
FHNN volunteers provide essential services, such as running neighborhood errands, providing technical assistance, helping with minor home maintenance, sorting mail, and making friendly visits and check-ins.
We are in particular need of people who are able to drive our members to nearby medical appointments and activities. The time commitment is typically an hour or less. How many rides you provide is completely up to you. Once a week or once every few months is fine. You do not have to wait during the event, and you can commit to driving just to or from the appointment.
As an FHNN volunteer, you will gain access to all FHNN programs, including outings, social events, and our popular online presentations.
Our members are located in the high-rise buildings in Friendship Heights, MD. You do not need to be a resident in one of the Friendship Heights buildings to be an FHNN volunteer.
If you are interested in volunteering and attending the February 10 session, please register online. You may also email us at information.fhnn@gmail.com with "February Orientation" in the subject line.
Space is limited at each session. Your online registration does not guarantee availability. We will contact you to confirm a spot.
NOTE: All FHNN volunteers providing services to FHNN members must pass a background check, sign a privacy agreement, and be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 including at least one booster shot. Those providing driving services must also have their driving record checked.
