Ann Lowe, one of America’s most significant designers, worked for some of the country’s wealthiest families, including the Rockefellers, the Biddles, Janet Auchincloss, and Marjorie Merriweather Post. She is best remembered for creating the wedding gown and bridal attire for Jacqueline Bouvier’s marriage to, the then, Senator John F. Kennedy. Ms. Elaine Nichols, Supervisory Curator of Culture at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, will talk about Ann Lowe and her contributions to the world of fashion.
Ms. Nichols is a resident of Friendship Heights.
