Highlights of the National Museum of Women in the Arts
Friday, June 30 at 10:30-11:30 am
Explore the artistic contributions of women from the 16th century to today. During this interactive presentation, participants will look closely and discuss a thematic selection of artworks from the museum’s collection. The featured artists push the boundaries of their materials, use innovative techniques, and challenge expectations of art across time and place. The museum's collection features 4,500 works from the 16th century to the present created by more than 1,000 artists, including Mary Cassatt, Frida Kahlo, Alma Thomas, Lee Krasner, Louise Bourgeois, Chakaia Booker and Nan Goldin. Our knowledgeable presenter will be Michelle Koppl, who is on staff at the museum.
