About this event

Art Herstory: Behind the Lens

A Getty Museum Presentation via Zoom

Monday, July 22, 3:00-4:00 pm EST
For FHNN & LFV Members & Volunteers

Women photographers are more numerous than you might think and the Getty collection is an excellent representation of the famous ones including Imogen Cunningham, Dorothea Lange, Julia Margaret Cameron and Margaret Bourke-White. But the Getty has quite a few lesser-known photographers as well. In this tour, we will take a look at their portraiture, landscapes and works encompassing social commentary from the late 19th century to present day.

This virtual tour is for FHNN and Little Falls Village members and volunteers as part of our collaboration. Register online. FHNN members or volunteers who need help registering can email information.fhnn@gmail.com with Herstory July in the subject line.

Our guide, Lee Rubinstein, holds dual degrees in English and History with a minor in Art History. She has been leading tours at the Getty since 2012. Additionally, she runs a year-long volunteer art program at a public school with disadvantaged pupils.
