A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)
  
If you must take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from your IRA, a donation to FHNN from your IRA that year will be a Qualified Charitable Distribution and will reduce your RMD taxable income by the amount of that donation.

Note: QCD are limited to $100,000 annually.  The QCD must be made directly from your IRA to FHNN through your IRA Administrator or a check to FHNN from your IRA checkbook.

  
Donor Advised Funds
  

If you have a donor advised fund (a charitable investment account), you can recommend grants to charities selected by you.   A grant to FHNN involves simply contacting your financial institution or foundation and recommending the FHNN grant. 

  
Appreciated Stock

  
A transfer of stock to FHNN is easy and offers valuable tax benefits:

• The total value of the appreciated stock is tax deductible
• There is no capital gain tax on the appreciation
