This museum features the work of artist Phillip Ratner, who was chosen as the artist for Ellis Island, where his grandparents entered the United States. This is an opportunity to get a close look at his model sculptures later added as full-scale installations on Ellis Island. Upon arrival at the Ratner Museum, we will be welcomed by Mr. Ratner, who will tell us about his work, career, and the museum. He is a prolific and internationally renowned sculptor, with an amazing collection of pieces inspired by the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament. Wander the upper gallery at your leisure with a guidebook. Enjoy his works of art in sculpture, painting, and graphics. His work is also in permanent displays at the Smithsonian, U.S. Supreme Court, Library of Congress, and National Zoo, among other locations.

Mr. Ratner holds degrees from the Pratt Institute and American University, and taught school in the area for 23 years. He is a philanthropist and the founder of the Israel Bible Museum in Safed, Israel.

The Ratner Museum is only open for scheduled tours like ours. It is located at
10001 Old Georgetown Rd, Bethesda, MD 20814. Those attending will need to wear masks while on the first floor with Mr. Ratner.

This outing is for FHNN and Little Falls Village members and volunteers as part of our collaboration. Register online. Members and volunteers who need help registering can email information.fhnn@gmail.com with Ratner in the subject line. Transportation will be by private cars.
