Highlights of the Udvar-Hazy Center
Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum Annex
Friday, April 28, 11:00 am-noon
The Udvar-Hazy Center is the second half of the Smithsonian’s Air and Space collection. Located in Virginia, Udvar-Hazy has enough space to hold the planes and spacecraft that don’t fit in the downtown museum.Thousands of aviation and space artifacts are on display in two massive hangers, including a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, the Boeing B-29 Superfortress Enola Gay, and the Space Shuttle Discovery. Enjoy a docent-led tour of collection highlights and trace the history of air and space travel. The docent corps is made up of knowledgeable volunteers, including former NASA employees, pilots (some of whom flew aircraft in our collection), engineers, and historians.
This tour is open to everyone and is part of our collaboration with Little Falls Village. Register online. FHNN members or volunteers who need help registering can email information.fhnn@gmail.com with Air and Space in the subject line.
