Funeral Planning:
Useful Tips and Eco-Friendly Options

With Chris Palmer

Tuesday, March 26, 2:30 - 3:45 pm

Via Zoom & Open to All!

In this entertaining and interactive workshop, Chris Palmer will explain why talking with your family about your funeral preferences is essential, why comparison shopping can save you significant money, and how eco-friendly options at the end of life (like green burial, water cremation, and other options) present new opportunities. Chris will also cover related topics, including embalming, home funerals, and death doulas.

Chris Palmer is an author, speaker, wildlife filmmaker, conservationist, professor, grandfather, and death and dying reformer. His next book, Achieving a Good Death: A Practical Guide to the End of Life, will be published this fall by Rowman & Littlefield. He is a hospice volunteer and runs an aging, death, and dying group for the Bethesda Metro Area Village. He was on the Board of the Green Burial Association of Maryland and is on the Board of Montgomery Hospice & Prince George’s Hospice. In addition, he is Vice President of the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Maryland & Environs and serves on the Advisory Council for the Maryland Office of Cemetery Oversight. He gives frequent talks on aging, death, and dying issues.
